A house of my own

I build myself a house,
a house where nobody can possibly hurt me,
a house where I can sleep,
where I can breathe;
fresh air,
pure freedom,
my endless dreams.

I build myself a house,
a house where I am my own judge,
a house where I can rest;
my mind,
my heart,
my body,
everything til the very last essence of me,
a house of sanctuary.

I build myself a house,
a house buried deep;
at the back of my mind,
inside my heart,
behind these naked naked eyes,
and they cannot touch it,
no,no,no;
“stay away, get away.”

There lies a house,
a sanctuary of my muse,
a house I have built,
a long time ago,
where nobody can possibly hurt me,
as I close my eyes to sleep,
“goodbye, you can’t touch me.”
